Job summary

Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking an Activity Leader to lead engaging recreation programs that keep residents energized, engaged and mentally stimulated. The role involves direct interaction with residents to plan and run activities that enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Director of Activities, documenting progress, and maintaining community connections. Requires HS diploma, NY driver’s license, and excellent communication; benefits include 401K, health

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 18 years of age.
• Requires a valid New York driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to develop relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors.
• Ability to inspire and motivate others and adapt activities to residents' needs.
• Understanding of residents' rights and needs.
• Physical stamina for constant activity.
• Must read/write/speak English at intermediate level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Activities in planning and executing the activity program.
• Approach residents to plan individual recreational activities and report on response and cooperation.
• Prepare resident information for care planning and document progress notes.
• Develop and maintain connections with community resources to support activities.
• Manage departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain attendance records and other required reports.
