Job summary

Portsmouth Health and Rehab Center in Portsmouth, VA is seeking an Activities Director to plan, organize, and direct a stimulating program of activities for residents, promoting entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED obtained.
• Prior experience in a resident activities program in a health care setting preferred.
• Willingness to complete a state-approved training course within six months of employment.
• Excellent creative and communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals who have cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities.
• Knowledge of how an Activity Department functions in a nursing facility.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for activity programs in long-term care.
