Job summary

Bronson Commons in Mattawan, MI is seeking an Activity Associate for part-time daytime hours (10:30a-7p). This role supports activity and social programs for residents under supervision of licensed staff, including ADL assistance and coordination of volunteer helpers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Nurse Aide Training, and a current Michigan CNA license, with Nurse Aide Testing within 4 months of hire. Prior LTC/geriatrics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Nurse Aide Training program.
• Current CNA license in good standing in Michigan.
• Completion of Nurse Aide Testing within 4 months of hire.
• Experience in Long Term Care, Rehab, or geriatrics preferred.
• Strong reading, writing, and math skills; basic medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills and typing ability.
• Ability to read, interpret and analyze data from computer systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining activity and social programs using arts and crafts.
• Aide patients with activities of daily living and transporting.
• Train, direct and assist volunteers.
• Document patient activity participation records.
• Initiate and organize new activity programming.
• Provide one-to-one programming for cognitively impaired patients.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and accurate documentation.
