Bronson Healthcare in Mattawan, MI seeks a part-time Activity Associate to support a vibrant activities program for residents. You will assist with creative arts, crafts, recreation, and meaningful education, under supervision of an Activities Director and licensed nurse.
Responsibilities include occasional ADL assistance, resident transport, documenting participation, coordinating volunteers, and initiating new activities while maintaining safety and quality of life for residents.

Under the direction of an Activities Director Certified, and in accordance with defined policies and procedures of Bronson and under the direction of a licensed nurse the activity associate assists in maintaining an activity and social program by using creative arts, manual crafts, recreational exercise and meaningful educational opportunities. The activity associate may be called upon to assist with patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient transport. Volunteers are used in conjunction with activities associates and are directed and assisted by the associate staff. Basic customer services directions, visitor control, and other functions as needed. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and successful completion of an accredited program for Nurse Aide Training required. Experience in Long Term Care, Rehab, or general Geriatrics preferred. Current CNA license (must be in good standing and valid in the state of Michigan).
Work which rarely produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue, i.e., less than 20 percent of the work time. Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.
