Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking an Activity Assistant at Notting Hill of West Bloomfield to support activity programs that enhance residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You will help plan and facilitate events, assist residents to activities, and foster a caring community.

The role requires assisting with records, coordinating with volunteers, and maintaining safety and quality in activities. Strong computer skills and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation therapy, and long-term care preferred.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates activity programs as planned to meet the Residents' interests and functional levels.
• Assist Residents to and from activity programs and outings as scheduled.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Completes records indicating Residents' attendance and participation in activities.
• Provide input to assessment and evaluation of Residents' participation; communicate concerns to supervisor.
• Supports Residents' individual needs, preferences and routines.
• Assists with escorting Residents to and from activities.
• Work with volunteers and volunteer programs as requested.
• Cleans equipment and materials used for activities.
• Participates in long-term care survey and accreditation requirements.
