Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers in Williamsport, MD seeks a dedicated team member to assist the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator in providing engaging activities to meet residents' psychosocial needs.

You will help plan and lead group and individual programs, coordinate transport for outings, and document participation while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to facility policies. This role requires empathy, reliable communication, and a passion for elder care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
• Follow corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
• Develop and assist residents with programs and activities.
• Guide Reality Orientation activities (daily announcements, events, calendars).
• Schedule van usage for outings and events.
• Assign volunteers with supervision and materials.
• Participate in resident care planning when helpful.
• Coordinate with outside groups for special events and weekends/evenings.
• Document attendance and report observed changes to the licensed nurse.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
