Job summary

Orchard View Post Acute in Lewiston, Idaho, is seeking an Activity Assistant to help the Activity Director run a creative and interactive activities program designed to meet the residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

You will plan monthly calendars, coordinate outings, assist with assessments, and help transport residents as needed. A high school diploma is required, and one year of long term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures and manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate with managers, employees, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting activities for individuals and groups.
• Support communication between staff, residents, families, and external agencies.
• Assist in developing monthly activity calendars and maintaining attendance records.
• Assist in arranging transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharge.
• Encourage resident participation in self-initiated activities and provide materials as needed.
• Keep the Activity Department clean, orderly, and secure and assist with documentation.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

One-year experience in long term care (preferred)

Ability to read technical procedures
