Job summary

Arbors of Ohio is seeking a Resident Activity Assistant at Arbors at Gallipolis to organize and participate in activity programming for residents. You will document participation and assess the value of approaches in the medical record, working closely with the activity director.

You will foster a compassionate, engaging environment, lead individual and group activities, and collaborate with staff to meet residents’ activity needs and well-being. Training and support are provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist the resident activity director as needed.
• Utilize the environment to provide comfort and stimulation for residents.
• Foster a sense of community within the center.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Use diverse activity models (pet, music, art therapy, etc.).
• Prepare and decorate for events and seasonal activities.
• Develop and post monthly calendars for residents and families.
• Support residents in recreational programs in their rooms as needed.
• Promote community volunteering.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.
• Store equipment and clean areas after activities.
• Support resident well-being using Biopsychosocial approaches.
• Provide comfort/support to residents and families as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
