Job summary

Newport Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, TN is seeking a Recreation Aide to support the Director of Recreation in planning engaging programs, social events, and outings that promote residents’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

You will assist with activities, escort residents, encourage participation, maintain supplies, document participation, and perform additional duties as assigned. TN CNA license preferred; long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• TN CNA license preferred.
• Long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading group and individual activities, including games, crafts, music, and social events.
• Escort and supervise residents during activities and outings as needed.
• Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet abilities and interests.
• Help maintain activity supplies, equipment, and activity areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Document resident participation and preferences in accordance with facility policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or facility management.
