Job summary

Columbus-Alzheimer is seeking an Activities Aide to support planning and delivering engaging programs for residents in a long‑term care setting in Columbus, Ohio. You will work with the Activities Director to tailor activities to residents' interests and abilities, promoting social, physical, and cognitive well‑being.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction, safety, and collaboration with staff and volunteers. A high school diploma is required; prior experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in activities coordination in healthcare preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude toward older adults.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Lead group activities such as games, crafts, music, and exercise sessions.
  • Encourage resident participation and tailor activities to abilities.
  • Monitor safety and well‑being during activities.
  • Document attendance, preferences, and participation levels.
  • Set up and clean activity spaces.
  • Assist with special events and family nights.
  • Coordinate with volunteers and staff for events.
