Job summary

UC Irvine's Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Program seeks a Residency Coordinator to manage administrative aspects, rotate trainee schedules, run online evaluations, and support recruitment and orientation. Your Role on the Team

Under the general direction of the Education Manager, the Program Director, and the Associate/Assistant Program Directors of the UCI Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Program, the Residency Coordinator assumes responsibility for all administrative aspects of the program. In this role, the coordinator’s duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating trainee rotations to optimize educational experiences, managing and administering online evaluation systems, and serving as the primary contact person for logistical and programmatic support. Additionally, the coordinator ensures that all program activities are organized and documented in compliance with American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and UCI Graduate Medical Education (GME) Department requirements. Working under supervision, the coordinator maintains the residency program budget and department’s residency webpages, in addition to facilitating the annual recruitment process, orientation activities for new trainees, and other broad administrative duties required to support the program’s overall daily operations.

Required
  • Knowledge of department, organization, HR and university policies and processes.
  • Current knowledge of relevant industry federal, state and local laws and regulations including national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices.
  • Knowledge of the health professions education industry, administrative analysis and operations research.
  • Knowledge of assigned program requirements and curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
  • Ability to share knowledge with team members in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with technical writing skills sufficient to compose a variety of scientific documents, reports, budgets and justifications which are clear, concise, logical and display syntax and grammar.
  • Ability to act independently with demonstrated problem-solving skills, multi-task and to follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to confirm and adjust to last minute schedule changes.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 1-2 years of related work experience
Special Conditions
  • May require work outside of normal business hours.
  • May require travel to other locations as designated by Department Leadership.
