Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the security services shop for University Housing and Dining (UHD). You will perform installation, repair, and maintenance of locking hardware, exit devices, and low voltage access equipment, and assist in completing work orders for residence halls.

Responsibilities include rekeying hardware, working with master key systems, and coordinating with supervisors on job status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of related maintenance/repair experience.
• Relevant education/experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Assist security service shop staff in installation, repair, and maintenance of locking hardware, exit devices, and low voltage access equipment.
• Complete work orders for residence halls and general building repairs; communicate status with supervisor.
• Handle rekeying, master key systems, key cutting machines, and key software.
• Carry UT cell phone, respond to emergencies, and work on-call; weekends and overtime as needed.
• Submit paperwork timely and assist in inventory management.
