Job summary

Stubblefield Institute is seeking a student at Shepherd University to support on-campus residence hall improvement projects. The role requires living on-campus to provide on-call coverage and serve as a positive community role-model.

Responsibilities

• Complete residence hall improvement tasks (painting, inventory, cleaning, moving furniture, landscaping, etc.).
• Attend training sessions with RHIC Foreman and RHIC Supervisor before projects begin.
• Work flexible hours up to 25 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Assist with projects involving facility services, housekeeping, and summer staff.
• Inventory and request items for RHIC projects; run job-related errands and drive large vehicles.

Job description

The RHIC is responsible for assisting with improvement of residential facilities including but not limited to projects involving painting, moving furniture, storage inventory, light cleaning, landscaping, deliveries, etc. As part of your integral job responsibility, you will be required to live on-campus in order to provide on-call and emergency coverage and to serve as a visible, positive role-model to our community of residents.
Job Description:

• Participate in the completion of all requested residence hall improvement projects, including, but not limited to, painting (often using a ladder); supply inventory and dispersal; completing forms/paperwork; cleaning and organizing rooms, lounges and storage areas; moving furniture and heavy items; inventory and dispersal of furniture; landscaping; minor facilities maintenance (changing light bulbs, vacuuming, etc.); and other special projects as determined by the RHIC Supervisor or other Residence Life staff.
• Attend training sessions with RHIC Foreman and RHIC Supervisor before the start of residence hall improvement projects.
• Work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, not to exceed 25 hours per week.
• Assist with projects which may include working with facility services, housekeeping personnel, summer conference staff and/or summer resident assistant staff.
• Assist RHIC Foreman in inventorying and requesting items to be purchased related to RHIC projects.
• Run job-related errands and drive large vehicles (two-axle).
• Other duties as assigned by the supervising Associate Director of Residence Life.
