X4 Engineering is seeking a Reservoir Engineering Lead in Houston to drive technical underwriting and asset evaluation for energy investments. You will lead reservoir analyses, forecast production, and support acquisition decisions in a growing PE-backed energy platform.

Ideal candidates bring 4–8 years of reservoir experience in unconventional basins, and a commercially minded, investment-focused approach. Minerals/royalties experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of reservoir engineering experience.
• Strong unconventional oil and gas experience.
• Experience across Permian, Haynesville or Williston basins.
• Strong production forecasting and development modelling skills.
• Commercial mindset with interest in energy investments.
• Experience with minerals and royalties is a plus.

We are partnered with a leading private equity-backed energy investment platform focusing in the Minerals & Royalties space that is looking to hire a Reservoir Engineering Lead.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced reservoir engineer to join a growing team and take on a role with significant exposure to acquisitions, asset evaluation and investment decision-making.

The role will focus on reservoir engineering and technical underwriting across the Permian, Haynesville and Williston basins, working closely with the acquisitions and investment teams.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 4-8 years of reservoir engineering experience.
• Strong unconventional oil & gas experience.
• Experience across one or more of the Permian, Haynesville or Williston.
• Strong production forecasting and development modelling skills.
• A commercially minded approach and an interest in the investment side of the industry.

Experience with minerals and royalties is beneficial but not essential.
