Job summary

U.S. Army 2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion seeks an Occupational Medicine Officer to oversee health programs, assess conditions affecting Soldier health, and implement measures to improve fitness and prevent disease across the force. The role offers advancement in military medicine in both Active Duty and Army Reserve paths.

Ideal candidates will hold an MD or DO, have a U.S. medical license, and be eligible for board certification in occupational medicine, with residency status for Army Reserve

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited U.S. school.
• License to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
• Eligibility for board certification in occupational medicine or related specialty.
• Permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve duty officers; U.S. citizenship for Active Duty.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise occupational health programs across the force.
• Determine the status of conditions influencing Soldiers' health and recommend improvements.
• Promote health, physical fitness, and disease prevention for Soldiers and civilian personnel.
• Support humanitarian missions and leadership training through military healthcare roles.
• Serve in Active Duty or Army Reserve with opportunities to lead in medicine.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. School
• Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates
• Must have license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
• Must have eligibility for board certification
• Must be between 21 and 42 years of age
• Must be a U.S. citizen for Active Duty
• Must have permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve duty officers
