JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University's Department of Electrical Engineering, in conjunction with the Penn State Center of Excellence in Directed Energy, is seeking a highly qualified individual for a non-tenure-line position at the rank of Researcher, Assistant Research Professor, or Associate Research Professor.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will participate in funded projects developing advanced electromagnetics technologies. Responsibilities include assisting the Center Director, leading research programs in antenna/metamaterial/metasurface design and simulation, preparing reports, publishing in conferences and journals, supporting proposal writing, and aiding in research and design for high-profile projects.
Job Duties:
+ Provide technical assistance and contribute to prototype and technology development efforts.
+ Contribute to prototype development activities, including design, testing, documentation, and validation.
+ Develop engineering solutions and investigate competing technologies.
+ Support evaluation and identification of design solutions meeting performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
+ Develop mechanical verification and validation testing requirements.
+ Ensure prototype specifications are accurate and appropriate.
+ Support vendors and fabrication shops, including external partners.
+ Assist in marketing efforts, including technical brochures and presentations.
+ Support leadership as needed.
Requirements:
The candidate should possess a Master's Degree or terminal degree in Engineering (depending on the position) by the start date, with industrial experience. U.S. Citizenship is required.
