Job description

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to join a small, fast-moving neurotechnology startup at the ground floor. We’re conducting groundbreaking research into brain health, human performance, and the nervous system — and we’re looking for a hands-on Researcher to work directly at the intersection of neuroscience, technology, and medicine.

You’ll operate cutting-edge non-invasive neurotechnology devices, work face-to-face with research participants, and help shape the studies that could redefine how we understand and support human health. Your work will have direct, visible impact on both the science and the company’s direction.

This is a fully on-site role in Boston, MA. You should be comfortable being present and engaged in person, 6 days per week, 9am–6pm.

What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with research participants during study sessions, prioritizing their safety and comfort while collecting high-quality data

  • Operate, test, and maintain cutting-edge neurotechnology devices with precision and care

  • Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data to support ongoing research initiatives

  • Identify patterns in observations and translate findings into actionable insights

  • Help improve research protocols, standard operating procedures, and tooling based on real-world experience in the lab

  • Collaborate across neuroscience, engineering, medicine, and operations teams to solve complex, interdisciplinary problems

  • Take ownership of foundational projects that shape the trajectory of the company

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves (dealbreakers):

  • 2 years of experience in research, clinical, or laboratory environments — conducting studies, collecting data, or operating specialized equipment

  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with human research participants or patients in clinical or medical settings

  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining specialized medical or scientific instruments

Required skills & background:

  • Proficiency in experimental data collection, organization, and analysis using spreadsheets, databases, or statistical software

  • Experience designing, documenting, or improving research protocols and SOPs

  • Background in neuroscience, biology, psychology, engineering, medicine, or a related life sciences discipline

  • Ability to identify patterns in experimental observations and communicate findings clearly

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-urgency environments with multiple concurrent priorities

Nice to have:

  • Experience with clinical trial design, regulatory compliance, or IRB processes

  • Background in neurotechnology, brain-computer interfaces, or non-invasive neuromodulation

  • Experience in sleep science, sleep disorders, or sleep medicine research

  • Proficiency with data visualization or statistical software such as R, Python, or MATLAB

  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

We care far more about demonstrated capability and genuine curiosity than specific credentials. Strong candidates may include recent graduates with hands-on research experience, clinical trial coordinators, neuroscience researchers, or data-driven problem solvers passionate about human health.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $80,000 — $120,000 USD annually, depending on experience

  • Opportunity for significant early-stage ownership and career growth in a rapidly evolving field

  • Visa sponsorship: Not available — candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

Location
  • On-site only — Boston, MA

  • 6 days per week, 9am–6pm in-person availability required

  • Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available for this role
