Job summary

The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences at Penn State University seeks a Researcher to support NCEMS in community-scale synthesis of molecular and cellular data. This role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, reproducible methods, and scholarly output.

You will analyze large-scale biological datasets, develop reproducible workflows, and contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and technical reports while mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, biosciences, plant sciences, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, AI-driven biological data analysis, and scalable open-science research infrastructure and training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to contribute to analyses, manuscripts, technical reports, or presentations.

Responsibilities

• Advance the NCEMS mission through participation in community-scale synthesis research in molecular and cellular sciences.
• Analyze and interpret complex molecular and cellular datasets.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across NCEMS and external partners.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate.
