Job summary

Penn State University’s NCEMS seeks a Scientific Consultant to provide on-demand scientific expertise for analysis and visualization of molecular and cellular data. Hours vary by project needs and compensation is determined accordingly.

You will work with Staff Scientists and Postdocs, develop pipelines, ensure data quality, and help prepare intermediate data products and documentation. Current PSU graduate students with computational biology/bioinformatics experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current Penn State graduate student with data-intensive expertise in computational biology or bioinformatics.
• Experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related data-intensive discipline.
• Attention to detail and ability to rapidly learn new software tools and databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-demand scientific expertise and support for integrating, analyzing, and visualizing molecular and cellular biology data.
• Develop and maintain analysis pipelines compliant with NCEMS Open Science standards; ensure data quality and reproducibility.
