Job Title:Researcher 3Department:Engineering | Civil Environmental and Geodetic Engineering
This position will lead the advancement capabilities of the ELM model, within our DoE funded research. In this proposed research we investigate how microbial communities coordinate the exchange of nutrients, energy, and carbon in freshwater soil wetlands, and the outcome of these interactions to emergent ecosystems properties like greenhouse gas flux. Our proposed systems biology framework leverages laboratory and field derived microbial community data to test the conservation of microbial trait networks across geographically distinct wetlands that display similar methane fluxes and uses modeling framework to understand how these interactions respond dynamically and predictively to control freshwater greenhouse gas fluxes.
