The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Med - Pulmonary/Allergy/Critical Care, is in search of an experienced Researcher to join their team. As a Researcher, you will have expanded responsibilities overseeing multiple research projects and providing strategic direction. This professional‑level role involves performing cell and tissue culture, running and maintenance of the Ussing chamber, managing project budgets, and ensuring the integrity and quality of research outcomes across the team. Your expertise will be critical in guiding experimental design, data interpretation, and contributing to high impact publications. This also includes management of institutional regulations, training, and compliance documentation for a small research team, learning from laboratory manager. Depending on the research focus, this position will involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimen allocation – specifically involving human and/or ferret samples.
As a Researcher, you will play a key role in driving scientific discovery by independently leading and executing research projects. This professional‑level position demands a high degree of expertise and judgement in designing studies, analyzing data, and may involve assistants in publishing findings. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, manage project timelines, and contribute to grant writing and securing funding for future research. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
