POSITION SPECIFICS

The Crowley Laboratory, Eberly College of Science, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technologist – Life Sciences (Professional) to join our dynamic team.

A position is available immediately for a Research Technologist, Life Sciences - Professional in the Crowley laboratory, which studies neuropeptides as unique signaling molecules in the brain. Our research focuses on interactions between neuropeptides and neurotransmitters, how these systems are influenced by biological sex, stress, drug exposure, and age, and how peptide systems can be targeted therapeutically.

The successful applicant will perform laboratory research under the supervision of postdoctoral researchers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting experiments using techniques such as electrophysiology, stereotaxic surgery, immunohistochemistry, and behavioral models.
  • Performing general lab maintenance, including dishwashing, autoclaving, and preparation of stock solutions.
  • Managing data using common software programs.
  • Participating in lab meetings and maintaining clear, organized records.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both semi-independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in data management using standard software tools.

Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications

Bachelor's Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $34,800.00 - $50,500.00.
