The Sangwan Lab at the Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician to join our lab in Chicago to work on stress signaling pathways. The role involves DNA/RNA/protein work, recombinant protein expression, and cell biology tasks in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated laboratory experience.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions per research protocols.
• Computer skills including spreadsheets and basic computations.

Responsibilities

• DNA, RNA, and protein isolation, purification, and expression; Western blotting.
• PCR, plasmid preparation, cloning, mapping and sequencing of DNA.
• Recombinant protein expression in bacterial, insect, and mammalian cells.
• Cell culture and isolation; gene editing using CRISPR; transfection and functional studies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
