Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Assistant to support department research through project execution, data handling, and routine experiments. You will assist with data interpretation, quality control of assays, and contribute to maintaining inventory and lab operations.

The role involves preparing media, culturing cells, operating lab equipment, and collaborating with PIs and staff to ensure data integrity and smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, in a related field.
• No prior experience required; suitable for entry-level.
• Strong data recording and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out experimental designs for sponsored research projects, and perform routine experiments.
• Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results.
• Assist with evaluation, interpretation and assessment of experimental data and quality control of assays.
• Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed.
• Carry out assigned duties for ordering and maintaining supply of inventories.
• Operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment used in research.
• Prepare media and maintain cells by various culturing in techniques.
• Oversee daily lab operation in the absence of the supervisor or Principle Investigator.
• Other duties as assigned.
