Basic Function

WE ARE SEEKING A FULL-TIME RESEARCH TECHNICIAN TO WORK IN DR. SARAH EICHLER'S LABORATORY AND GREENHOUSE SPACE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following

THIS RESEARCH FOCUSES ON PLANT AND FUNGAL PRODUCTION METHODS, COVER CROPS, AND OTHER SUSTAINABLE CROPPING SYSTEMS, WHILE EXPLORING AGROECOLOGICAL FUNCTION VIA EXPERIMENTS USING GROWTH CHAMBER, GREENHOUSE, OUTDOOR PLOTS, PRIVATE COLLABORATOR FARM FIELDS, AND REMOTE SENSING/GIS. IN ADDITION TO MONITORING PLANTS, BIOGEOCHEMISTRY AND NUTRIENT CONTENT OF SOIL AND TISSUES IS A SIGNIFICANT COMPONENT OF DATA COLLECTION.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM TWO YEARS OF COLLEGE-LEVEL BIOLOGY, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, PLANT SCIENCE, OR OTHER RELEVANT COURSE WORK; AND 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A BIOLOGICAL LABORATORY, FIELD WORK SUCH AS ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING, AND/ OR GREENHOUSE ENVIRONMENT. APPLICANTS SHOULD BE DETAIL-ORIENTED AND POSSESS A COLLABORATIVE ATTITUDE.REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED.

License/Certification

VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE

Preferred Qualifications

FAMILIARITY WITH EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN AND EXCEL-BASED DATA MANAGEMENT AND FAMILIARITY WITH BIOCHEMICAL ANALYSES RELATED TO PLANT/SOIL NUTRIENTS IS PREFERRED
