The Multicultural Alzheimer’s Prevention Program (MAPP) in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is an initiative to advance our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and prevent cognitive decline in diverse populations.

Working under the general guidance of the Program Director (Dr. Yakeel T. Quiroz), the Research Technician will be responsible for carrying out daily activities to support the prevention research program. This includes community outreach, participant recruitment and cognitive testing, as well as contributing to data entry, neuroimaging data analysis and manuscript preparation.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, psychology, neuroscience, or related fields required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in clinical research or brain imaging research. Familiarity with brain imaging software (Freesurfer/SPM) is required.
  • Must be able to work productively under minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems, MATLAB, and some prior experience in brain imaging research.
  • Careful attention to detail and strong organization skills required.
