Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated research tech to collect and analyze data on biomedical workforce education, training, and development as part of the UNC Academy of Educators Project: Kathleen Rao Scholarship Award - 'Validating productivity metrics to increase education research trainee outcomes evaluation efficiency Project.' The research tech will assist in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and will participate in dissemination. The research tech will gain an understanding of biological and biomedical doctoral-level scientific training and research; an understanding of experimental design, methods, and the scientific method; and will gain experience with scientific writing. The selected individual will build on existing graphical/data visualization skills, statistical analysis skills, and/or data management skills. This experience will provide the research tech with experience combining scientific knowledge/methods with an educational research approach to assess training, programs, and professional development opportunities on PhD career outcomes and biomedical workforce development impacts. The research tech will have opportunities to present study findings at local and/or regional meetings/conferences as available (e.g., Departmental Seminars, UNC BioSTAR Directors' Meeting, UNC AOE Events) to help disseminate findings to the biomedical research community.
