About The Role

Location: Based in Decatur, IL

Role Purpose: A research technician plays a crucial role in supporting scientific research and laboratory operations. Key responsibilities and qualifications are as follows:

Responsibilities:

1. Support applications and technical service teams with projects, formulation, screening, general lab work, or equipment support.
2. Perform light maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
3. Sample preparation for testing using various laboratory equipment.
4. Collect, analyze, and interpret research data.
5. Keep accurate records of experiments and findings.
6. Communicate results to research and/or technical service teams.
7. Maintain adequate lab supplies and notify supervisor when reordering is needed.
8. Safety Compliance: Ensure lab safety procedures are followed and safety standards are met. Complete all safety trainings.
9. Conduct literature reviews related to research topics and communicate findings.
10. Participate in research meetings and contribute to project strategies.
11. Sustain a clean working area, wash equipment/labware, and store properly.

About You

• B.S. in STEM (chemistry, biology, engineering, or related field)
• Proven work experience as a research technician or similar role
• Good attendance and safety record
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Good organizational skills
• Willingness to learn new responsibilities
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Sufficient computer skills for lab instrument operation (Excel, Word)
• Experience with standard lab equipment (pH meters, balances, spectrophotometers)
• Strong math skills for calculations and data analysis
• Attention to detail for accurate experiments and data recording

Total Rewards

The annual pay range is estimated at $57,956.80 - $72,446.00 plus overtime. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and role responsibilities. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
