Tulane University in Covington, LA seeks a Medical Research Technician for the Molecular Virology Sequencing Core, Serology Unit. The role conducts diagnostic assays in BSL2 labs following SOPs and participates in equipment upkeep.
The ideal candidate has a BS degree and 0–2 years of lab experience, with preferred familiarity in serology/molecular assays and basic tools like Excel/Word. Strong organization and teamwork are essential; background checks and health screenings may apply.
The employee will work as a Medical Research Technician in the Molecular Virology Sequencing Core, Serology Unit, at the Tulane National Biomedical Research Center. The employee will be responsible for performing diagnostic assays, in Biosafety level 2 laboratories (BSL2), in adherence with the Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) in place. The candidate should be able to work independently under minimal supervision. The candidate will also be responsible for equipment and general laboratory maintenance.
