Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
The Research Technician will support clinical and translational research activities by coordinating biospecimen collection, processing patient samples, maintaining laboratory operations, and assisting with laboratory experiments such as immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, Western blot, qPCR, ELISA and cell culture. Training will be provided in basic laboratory techniques as needed. This position serves as a critical link between clinical operations and laboratory research, as well as helping out with day-to-day experiments in the lab. This person will help ensure the accurate collection, processing, and documentation of biological specimens while maintaining compliance with institutional policies and research protocols.
Specific skills or experience preferred but not required: basic wet lab experience, clinical research coordinator experience, Epic EMR experience.
