Job summary

State University of New York at Buffalo is seeking a Research Technician II to support translational and basic science research on thoracic malignancies. The successful candidate will perform experiments, both in vitro and in mice, and assist with data collection under supervision.

The role includes maintaining records, ensuring safety/regulatory compliance, and collaborating with lab members to optimize experimental design. This is a one-year, 40-hour-per-week on-campus position.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two years of formal training related to the project, and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with standards used in the field.
• Master’s or PhD degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments supporting translational and basic science research on thoracic malignancies.
• Perform in vitro assays and in vivo (mouse) studies under supervision.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation of experimental results.
• Maintain accurate lab notebook records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with laboratory members to optimize experimental design and troubleshoot procedures.
