As Research Technician II, you will join Dr. Rao and her team in understanding how internal timing mechanisms affect tissue development and function. In this role, you will divide your time between research and administrative tasks to support the design of novel therapeutic interventions that can be used to directly manipulate targets. Your efforts are integral to innovative and exciting developments, and you will receive extensive hands-on training and experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity to explore the Research Career Pathway.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:30AM – 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Perform laboratory techniques, procedures and technical lab duties required for experimental studies.
  • Schedule and perform various analyses.
  • Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
  • Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
  • Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment/instrumentation and accumulate data from analyses.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR Associate’s Degree in a laboratory science field and one year of work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree
  • Comfortable handling animals

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Excellent organization and documentation skills
  • Master's Degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.88

Maximum hourly: $28.80

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
