Job Summary
Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
Dr. Steven Gray Lab is a leader in developing gene therapy treatments for rare neurological diseases. This job involves maintaining mouse and rat colonies, including breeding and care. It requires performing genotyping to identify genetic traits, conducting necropsies for tissue analysis, and handling plasmid cloning for genetic studies. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining and working with cell cultures, as well as preparing and shipping biological samples as needed.
This position will primarily support studies testing gene therapy treatments in rodent models of neurological disorders but conducting behavioral assessments on rodents and assisting with colony upkeep. Prior experience handling rodents in a research setting is strongly preferred. Experience with rodent behavioral testing is preferred. Familiarity with molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry preferred.
