Cleveland Clinic’s brain tumor team is made up of expert neurosurgery, neuro-oncology and radiation oncology providers. Our team offers the most advanced care, using the latest diagnostic and treatment approaches like surgery, chemotherapy, targeted immunotherapies, radiotherapy and radiosurgery.

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.
  • Perform technical lab duties.
  • Schedule and perform various analyses.
  • Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
  • Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
  • Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Accumulate data from analyses.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associate’s degree in a laboratory science field and one year of work experience OR a bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.88

Maximum hourly: $28.80

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
