Research Support Technician I, Support Team at Champions Oncology, Inc.

Job Details
  • Location: Rockville, MD
  • Reporting To: Lab Manager
Primary Objectives

Provide general technical support for in vivo oncology studies in mice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in vivo technical support for oncology studies with mice, including tumor volume measurements, animal randomization, body weight measurements, removal of surgical staples, and euthanasia.
  • Perform general study preparation and laboratory organization, such as moving animals, maintaining room organization, and assisting with pre-operative care.
  • Assist with additional duties as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong in vivo mouse technical skills.
  • Effective team collaboration with high accountability, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills (email, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Willingness to assist with various duties in a dynamic environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Strong focus on animal welfare.
  • Adherence to safety and security procedures.
Qualifications
  • Preferred: BS in animal science, biology, or related field.
  • Preferred: AALAS ALAT certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, handle objects, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Lift and move packages up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, blood, body fluids, and tissues.
