The Sarver Heart Center at the University of Arizona's College of Medicine-Tucson invites applicants for the temporary position of Research Technician I. This position conducts and supports laboratory or field research by setting up and conducting experiments in lab. The Research Technician will develop, adapt, and build equipment, procedures, and techniques to fit specific experiment requirements. They will also operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, instruments, and apparatuses.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct scientific research. This includes learning techniques such as: protein assay, immunohistochemistry, and cell culture with downstream analysis. Attend weekly lab meeting to present project updates.
  • Participate in development of scientific projects, grant writing, and manuscript writing and preparation. Develop scientific figures for projects. Stay up to date with literature. Attend and partake in local seminars and conferences.
  • Lab maintenance including: Mopping/sweeping, Decontamination, Refill disinfectants, Clean lab supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
