Position Overview And Responsibilities

The Humphries Lab is looking to add a lab member at the Research Technician I level or higher to conduct basic research in aging, cardiac muscle biology and mitochondrial function through in vitro and in vivo approaches with mice.

The Humphries Lab is looking to add a lab member at the Research Technician I level or higher to conduct basic research in aging, cardiac muscle biology and mitochondrial function through in vitro and in vivo approaches with mice.

Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Western blotting
  • Real-time PCR analysis
  • Basic biochemical assays
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Mouse work
  • PCR genotyping

Minimum Requirements

BS/BA degree in one of the biological sciences, physics, chemistry, or related area, or equivalent years of relevant lab experience.

Should be familiar with lab techniques. Apply developing knowledge to coordinate day-to-day work, complete a variety of detailed tasks and assignments. Basic knowledge of Internet software, order processing system, data base and Microsoft Office software. Must be detail-oriented and work independently as well as a team player.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Previous lab experience working with rodents (especially mice) is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with cell culture and Western blotting is also preferred.

Work Hours

Typically Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
