Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife is seeking a Research Technician I to support soil health, irrigation, and sustainable cropping research in the Texas High Plains. You will assist with field trials, lab analyses, data management, and equipment maintenance, working under supervision with opportunities for field travel across Texas.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years of related experience, and willingness to operate field equipment and drive an agency vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to follow detailed scientific protocols and work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide field research support including establishment, maintenance and harvesting of agronomic trials.
• Prepare samples and operate standard laboratory equipment for analyses.
• Enter, organize and verify data; assist in summaries and reports.
• Maintain laboratory and field equipment and manage inventories.
• Assist with travel to research sites and coordinate site logistics.
