Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Research Technician to support cancer biology studies in the Comprehensive Cancer Center. You will assist with investigations, maintain accurate lab records, and help manage supplies and equipment in a busy biomedical lab.

Reporting to the PI, you will help prepare manuscripts, participate in training of junior staff and students, and ensure compliance with safety and HR procedures. A High School diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scientific investigations into human cancer as directed in the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

• Set up and operate laboratory equipment and procure supplies as needed.
• Assist PI with grant preparation and manuscript preparation.

Position Summary

Research Assistant to assist and support scientific investigation to study human cancer as directed in the Comprehensive Cancer Center; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; assists PI and communicate with collaborators and physicians and operate lab; Assist PI with grant preparation, especially administrative documents including Biosketches, facilities, LOS, and communications with HR and grant managers, etc.; assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; sets up and operates laboratory equipment; monitors research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed.
