Job summary

Ingevity in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Research Technician to support the Process Development team within the Performance Materials group. You will plan experiments, operate bench and pilot scale equipment, and document results to advance carbon materials and purification technologies.

This on-site role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related science and at least 1 year of lab/manufacturing experience; strong data accuracy, SOP adherence, and safety focus are essential, with teamwork

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment; familiarity with dispersion characterization is a plus.
  • Strong in process control, accurate weighing, and following SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan experiments and coordinate bench-scale and pilot-scale work.
  • Operate bench and pilot-scale equipment and document results.
  • Participate in plant trials and support process improvements.
  • React quickly to changing project needs and work well within a team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
