Job Summary
Primary responsibilities of this technical position will be microinjection of RNA and DNA into zebrafish embryos to assist in characterizing a tumor model of childhood central nervous system cancer. The candidate will screen fish for tumor formation, as well as perform molecular and biochemical assays (qPCR, Western analysis) and immunohistochemistry on tumor samples. Depending upon their qualifications, the candidate will be trained in several molecular biology and genetic techniques, including using bioinformatics to identify genes, cloning genes into expression vectors and preparing DNA and RNA probes. General laboratory responsibilities will include contributing to the maintenance of a zebrafish lines, quality preparing materials for general molecular biology techniques (making buffers), and assisting senior lab members. Zebrafish experience is a plus, but not mandatory. Molecular biology experience preferred.
