About the Department
Butner Beef Cattle Field Lab ( BBCFL ) is a 1,250 acre research unit located about 50 miles north of campus with a staff of 9.5 FTE . BBCFL serves as a research platform for research on beef cattle including nutrition, physiology, genetics, pest control, pasture management, crop production and related areas. BBCFL serves as a training and demonstration area utilized by graduate student and the general public.
As a Research Technician for the Bunter Beef Cattle Field lab, you will be apart of supporting agricultural field research. As research programs evolve over time, you may be called upon to do a wide variety of tasks, all related to agricultural research and support.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Other Responsibilities
* Assist with crop production specifically hay and corn.
* General upkeep and maintenance of overall facility.
* Assist with Bull Test Facility when needed.
Qualifications
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Other Required Qualifications
Experience in agriculture.
Experience in livestock and operation of farm equipment or research equipment.
Required License or Certification
Valid NC Driver's License required Yes
