Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Technician to perform laboratory testing and analysis on various specimen samples at UPMC Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. The role requires the ability to obtain PA child abuse history clearance, PA State Police criminal record check, FBI background check, and TB testing prior to employment.

Responsibilities include operating and sterilizing equipment, maintaining logs and inventory, and assisting with ordering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• No specialized experience required beyond related education.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education and/or experience requirement.
• Must be able to obtain required background clearances (PA State Police, FBI) and health screenings.

• Sterilizes, maintains, and cleans lab equipment; prepares work areas; and maintains cleanliness throughout laboratory.
• Maintains inventories and assists with ordering proper supplies and chemicals.
