Job Summary
To provide research experience in the fields of infectious disease, molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics. Employee will assist the PI and her team in federally funded research and may take on an independent research project.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb and stoop. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. These vision demands are needed in the lab, especially when using a microscope.
Describe Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties of the position are normally performed in a typical laboratory setting. While performing the duties in this setting the employee is regularly exposed to disinfectants and other toxic or caustic chemicals, lab animal allergens, occasionally exposed to moving heavy pieces of equipment (racks, hoods), and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in this setting is usually moderate.
