The Sequencing and Discovery Genomics Team is seeking a full-time Research Technician to provide high-quality DNA sequencing services to scientific laboratories at the Stowers Institute.

Responsibilities include:

1. Perform DNA sequencing using Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing instruments.
2. Conduct plasmid purification.
3. Perform PCR procedures.
4. Operate liquid handling robots.
5. Maintain laboratory equipment in proper working order.
6. Utilize a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to complete daily tasks.
7. Troubleshoot Sanger and next-generation sequencing results.
8. Log and document maintenance, troubleshooting, and tracking information.
9. Order and maintain accurate supplies inventory.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and customer service skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills, and the motivation to work independently while collaborating as part of a team.

Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree in biology, molecular biology, or a related field, along with prior laboratory experience.
