Risk factors of interest include: menopause, andropause, diet-induced obesity, vascular damage, and chronic stress. Our studies utilize a variety of approaches, including in vivo cerebral blood flow measurements, in vivo gene manipulation (AAVs), cognitive behavioral testing, endothelial translatome (TRAP-seq), transcriptomics, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, mouse models of metabolic disease, menopause, andropause, vascular dementia, multi-etiology dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.**Mentorship Environment:**Our research group values open communication, motivation, optimism, mutual respect, teamwork, and innovative thinking. She has received external funding at every stage of her career, including current funding (NINDS R01s, NIA R21s, and several foundation grants). Albany Medical College is an integral part of a large and active neuroscience community in Albany, which includes SUNY Albany, Wadsworth Center, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the Neural Stem Cell Institute. **Responsibilities:** In addition to becoming proficient in laboratory techniques, the research technician will also be expected to manage the research mouse colony, including animal husbandry and genotyping, perform general lab maintenance (e.g. purchasing and maintaining inventories of lab supplies), assist with training new lab members, and aiding in completing lab experiments. Senior technicians also have the opportunity to lead projects.**Requirements:** Candidates should have a B.S. in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology, or a related discipline.
