Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a Research Technical Assistant to provide technical support for studies on the genetic and multi-omic origins of asthma and allergic diseases. You will work with a team to develop and implement laboratory protocols and perform routine lab duties under supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Ideal candidates have a background in lab techniques, meticulous record-keeping, and the ability to troubleshoot.

Qualifications

  • Vocational training or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).
  • <2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to follow protocols and troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Attention to details and good record-keeping skills.
  • Experience with RNA and/or DNA extractions and QC.
  • Basic R programming and Excel skills.
