Purdue University Institute of CHIPS and AI in West Lafayette, IN seeks an applied research professional to advance fabrication, materials, and AI/ML in manufacturing. You will design and test equipment, analyze data, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely results.

Performs applied research at the intersection of fabrication, hands‑on engineering, materials, manufacturing processes, process characterization, and artificial intelligence/machine learning in manufacturing (AI/ML). Works both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment. Requires strong knowledge of equipment design and fabrication, manufacturing processes, materials, data analysis, and analytical methods, along with the ability to contribute effectively to fast‑paced, time‑bound and results‑driven team projects. Engages in individual and team‑based research in electronic manufacturing, including the design and development of equipment and processes. Plans and executes project tasks to meet established timelines, conducts equipment‑based analysis, and prepares detailed technical reports. Collaborates with academic, governmental, and industry partners and presents research outcomes to a range of stakeholders.
