Job summary

University of Utah Health's Aphasia Communication and Participation Lab seeks a per diem Speech-Language Pathologist to assist with research activities. You will support data management, recruitment, and aphasia group programming under the Lab Director and collaborate with the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

The role is a per diem, hourly position with compensation determined by qualifications and experience, working up to 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure to practice as a Speech Pathologist in the State of Utah.
  • Preferred experience in dysphagia, stroke, head trauma and neurologic disorders.
  • Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and ASHA CCCs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Lab Director with research activities to improve communication and participation for people with aphasia.
  • Help with data management, analyses, and participant recruitment.
  • Support aphasia group programming and lab activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Current licensure to practice as a Speech Pathologist in the State of Utah.

Preferred

  • Experience in the following areas; dysphagia, stroke, head trauma, diffuse brain pathology, neurologic diseases and disorders, developmental language delay, dysfluency, voice pathology, motor speech disorders, cognitive disorders or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Preferences

Graduate degree in Speech-Langauge Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association ( ASHA CCCs). Experience with neurological communication disorders, including post-stroke aphasia preferred.
