Research Specialist (Infectious Disease - Koo & Manne-Goehler)
The Research Specialist must function independently and with general direction/supervision from the Principal Investigator and her staff. This candidate will provide primary support to conducting clinical and translational research studies developing novel therapeutics and diagnostics for various infectious diseases.
Daily activities include participating in subject enrollment, collecting patient samples, maintaining documentation, and analyzing data. The Research Specialist will routinely collaborate with physicians, postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and laboratory personnel. He/she/they must be able to ensure adherence to hospital/department policies and established clinical procedures/standard practices. This job reports to Drs Koo and Manne-Goehler. This may partly be a federally funded grant (research) position.
The Research Assistant will conduct research activities in the outpatient/inpatient setting and laboratories of the Division of Infectious Diseases, BWH/DFCI. New hires to the Division of Infectious Diseases will share a typical clinical research environment with postdoctoral fellows and research assistants.
Master's Degree Related Field of Study required
Experience in an academic or laboratory research setting 3-5 years required
